Gateway Garden Preschool is a premier early childhood educational center offering Pre-K programs for 2 1/2 to 5 year old children. Located on the border of Ottawa Hills, Ohio, Gateway is dedicated to providing a nurturing and academically enriching environment that prepares children for Kindergarten in Ottawa Hills and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Dismissal for AM students: 11:15-11:30
Lunch and Rest (All day students)

Dismissal (all students)- 3:15-3:30 PM
Before and After School Care
Optional morning arrival: 7:45-8:15 AM
Optional afternoon pickup- 3:30-4:30 PM

Gateway Garden Preschool follows the Ottawa Hills yearly calendar with a few exceptions.
Available Weekly Schedules
Gateway Garden Preschool offers a variety of schedules for our students.
We offer 2 half/full days on Tuesday/Thursday, 3 half/full days on Monday/Wednesday/Friday
and 5 half/full days Monday through Friday. Half days may be either mornings or afternoons, as space permits.

Young Juniors 2 1/2 to 3 years
Juniors 3 to 4 years
At Gateway Garden Preschool, we embrace a nurturing approach for our littlest students, introducing them to our educational philosophy through engaging academic activities tailored to their developmental stage. Our program emphasizes socialization, teaching the importance of sharing, and fostering independence, ensuring a well-rounded foundation for their future learning journey.
Seniors - 4 to 5 years
Welcome to the "Seniors" class, where we nurture the talents of every child while preparing them for a successful transition into Kindergarten. Our curriculum includes the Heggerty Literature system, which is taught in Ottawa Hills, Sylvania and other local schools. In addition to literacy, we enrich our program with engaging activities in math, science, music, art, and literature, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience for all students. Join us as we cultivate a love for learning and prepare our little ones for their bright futures!
History of Gateway School
Gateway School has proudly welcomed Preschool children since 1942, thanks to the dedication of passionate educator Rose Ann Huebner, lovingly known as "Miss Posy." With a rich history and a focus on early childhood development, Gateway School continues to inspire the next generation of children.
Heidi and Dan O'Connor dedicated decades to nurturing the arts at Gateway School, creating a vibrant musical legacy that will be remembered fondly.
